My husband just returned from our second visit to Sebasco Harbor Resort. Sebasco is a little village of a resort with many separate buildings, connected by narrow golf cart sized, winding roads, ideal for walking. The location is spectacular in terms of the views and the constant breeze. Everywhere you look is beautiful. The salt water pool is set up high, with a breathtaking view of the harbor. It is however- kind of in the middle of nowhere. Other than the local beach- it's a considerable drive to just about anywhere. You absolutely could enjoy yourself here- without leaving though... as we did during our first visit. The whole place has a bit of an old family beach house feel! The main lodge has an enormous front porch that is always busy with guests chatting, reading or just taking in the scenery. Big common areas are stocked with board games, decks of cards and books- where guests of all ages tend to congregate at all hours. There are lawn games around the property, encouraging more relaxing fun. While I love the feel of the guest rooms and common areas, certain updates are needed, and attention to some issues: *The fitness center needs A/C. *The lighthouse interior needs painting. This should happen each year in my opinion& I was appalled at the graffiti that the staff has failed to paint over. It was not there during our last visit. *The guest room balconies & fabric awnings by the office need more regular power washing. I felt that the staff to guest ratio has dwindled since our last visit. There were not enough staff around each area to make you feel you were being taken care of. While I appreciate the 'vacation at your own pace' motto, I would feel more valued as a guest if a staff member was seen more frequently stopping in at un-staffed locations, simply asking guests how they are enjoying their stay, if they need anything etc. The professionalism could be improved if the staff didn't seem so overwhelmed all of the time.

This is a wonderful family resort that will help make memories for you and your family. It does come with a price, but when your 5 yr old daughter tells you this is the best vacation ever, while your holding hands, the price will seem small. Cool Maine (july) weather when the rest of the country is broiling certainly makes the price tag go down a little easier too. We are staying in a cottage which is nice but not luxurious. The highlights have been all the family activities, sing a longs, ice cream making, yard games. It reminds me of summer camp as a kid, which is part of the draw. If you are the type of person who does a cost-benefit analysis for every expenditure on vacation you may feel that this place is not a good bargain, but if you are focused on making a memorable vacation for your family this may be your place. The customer service has been very good we were upgraded to a better cottage when there was problem with one we reserved. It was offered and we did not need to ask.

For all the money you spend on a room here, you'd think they'd throw in AC. I don't really like sweating like crazy before I head out to your reception hall, which also doesn't have AC. It's like the place from Footloose, only you're sweating bullets because there's not even any shade out on the lawn during the cocktail hour. It's a pretty area, but when I'm in a monkey suit in the summer, you could at least try and keep me cool.

My husband and I stayed her July 3 & 4th 2011. Our room in the Lighthouse building was very pricey. It should have been a $75 room but I guess at $300 they charged $225 for the view. Room was clean but dated. We would have loved to have a desk. Wifi is feel and works well.The stairs in this building were old and creaky. Every time someone went up or down them we could hear it in our room. Lots of children running up and down. Management may consider this build be 55 or older or put a sign on the door to go up and down stairs quietly. The view from our room wonderful but the windows were so low you had to sit to enjoy. We attended a Sunday night buffet-the menu sounded great so we bit the bullet and paid the $36 pp. Very disappointed! All the food was cold and not worth the price. Service was slow. There were not many employees over 18 in the resort and they all seemed to scramble to keep up service. Food in the Pilot House was good but pricey. Great view! Fireworks on the 3rd were held despite the rain and were brief but nice. This resort was loaded with children, if you are looking for a quiet place, this is not it. I think it is probably a great place for families to go. There were lots of planned activities although they all come with a price. Don't be fooled by the ads, you pay extra for almost all. We played golf on the 9 hole course. Yes it cost $$ and so do the carts. Course is narrow and well kept except the first hole(very wet). The problem with the golf course is you have families playing golf slowly and no ranger to keep them moving. Play was extremely slow and painful. Popham Beach is about 15 minutes away. Lovely beach! It cost $6 pp to get in. Although vast and large open air beach, you may not smoke on the beach. Bellmen were the best part of this trip. They were there to help you unpack your car. No ice in our building-when we called the front desk for ice, they were there in minutes. They were also there to help pack our car. Awesome service! We will probably not go back but would recommend this resort to families with lots of small children.

My family and I have been coming up to this little slice of heaven for over 14 years! We come all the way from Philadelphia for a week at this place, and it is ALWAYS worth the drive! So many great things to say about this place, but I'll try my best to prevent this from being a huge wall of text. First off, you feel very welcome here by the staff, especially by the owner (Bob Smith), who is very friendly! Second, the views you get looking out onto the Casco Bay from various places are incredible, especially from the Pilot House restaurant. Third, there's plenty of activities around the resort, ranging from the salt water pool, to golf, to the numerous fishing trips set up by the resort. I recommend you come up here during the week of Independence Day, because the fireworks that the resort sets up here on the 4th are top notch! All in all, if you're looking into taking a trip to Maine, you won't be sorry by making this the place you stay!

We just returned from our vacation in Maine and stayed at the Sebasco for three very uncomfortable nights. I am not here to be rude or insulting to the Sebasco's owners or staff. In fact, Jane, the manager and Nina were very sensitive to my concerns and disappointment upon arrival. We stayed in the main lodge and the apparent mold, old, old, furniture, lack of attention to basic painting and neglected landscaping around the main lodge were just a few of my concerns. When I arrived at our room, no lie, I sat down in an old chair and cried. Jane did move us to a room with a balcony where we found the sliding door screen off the track, the track itself hadn't been cleaned for years, and the balcony hadn't seen a paint job in probably 15 years. It was down to the bare wood and full of mold. The patio furniture was rusty and old. I have an allergy to mold and had to use my inhaler many, many times during my stay. I didn't make too much of a scene due to the fact that we were traveling with another couple and did not want to make them uncomfortable. The pictures of the main lodge and its rooms which appear on line are NOT what you will see when you arrive. There were thistles, weeds, and cigarette buts all around the grounds of the main lodge. I didn't appreciate what I saw upon arrival. The costs of the room does not equal the quality of the room. Shame on someone!!!!

Once upon a time there was a magical spot in Maine that featured a variety of room options ranging from rustic cabins to the ultra modern with kitchenette and wonderful views. You could also opt for a lighthouse room. At this resort you could also find a game room complete with bowling alleys and superb restaurants. How about a lobster omelet for breakfast? I am happy to report that the once upon a time, just turned 85. For those craving a special vacation, Sebasco Harbor Resort is the place to go!
